Why home infusion therapy?

Receiving therapy at home, outside the hospital or clinic setting, can be an excellent option for many people, including those facing a chronic illness, recuperating from surgery, or being treated by other home health professionals. It is a safe and cost-effective alternative to Emergency Room visits, extended hospital stays or placement in a nursing home. It can also allow individuals to maintain their normal daily activities and keep living life to the fullest.

Advantages of Mobile IV Therapy?
  • Enjoy better clinical outcomes & fewer complications
  • Clients overwhelmingly prefer receiving infusions at home
  • 99% of our patients report better physical and mental well-being
  • Patients & families face less disruption and personal responsibilities
  • Experience far fewer hassles than infusion treatments in a hospital or other medical/clinical settings
Where and who performs infusions?

Mobile IV infusions are provided by Registered Nurses, Nurse Practitioners, Doctors, and Paramedics, who come to your home or wherever you are the most comfortable. Common alternative places of service include workplaces, residential facilities, hotel or travel stays, or any other safe environment.

Will you provide infusion services for patients with dementia & weekly services?

The use of an IV for hydration is very common for patients with dementia. Persons with this condition often refuse, forget or otherwise will not take in nutrition or fluids. They may have developed swallowing problems, or simply become less responsive. A common fear and reality of the family in this situation are that their loved one is experiencing thirst, discomfort, a lack of hydration or simply not getting the nourishment they need to maintain proper body functioning. Regular or weekly scheduled IV infusion therapy can be a useful service to support loved ones with maintaining adequate hydration and vitamin/nutrient supplementation.

Results of infusion therapy?

Results and benefits depend on the infusion treatment recommended by our infusion specialists. Re-hydration is the main benefit, and depending on the selected add-ons, other possible benefits include increased energy, alleviation of cramping and soreness, increased mental clarity, relief from nausea and vomiting, migraine relief, immune system support. Overall, you will feel better.

Infusion vs. Oral Supplements

Water is a free fluid, meaning it does not have electrolytes in it. Also, water has to be absorbed through your stomach & digestive tract, so it takes a period of time for water to restore natural fluid balance, and only about 40-50% of water consumed orally is absorbed into your cells. IV fluids infused directly into your bloodstream, and contain essential electrolytes to replenish your bodies needs immediately.

Should I (or a loved one) consult a Doctor first?

Mobile IV’s treatments are fully elective; a doctor’s referral prior to treatment is NOT necessary. We always encourage patients to consult with their primary care physician. You can also call our friendly staff if you have questions: (520) 689-7080

Our organization and treatments are supervised by our licensed Medical Director and administered by Registered Nurses all of which are board certified and currently licensed in the state of Arizona.

Will I (or my loved one) meet the Medical Director?

Unlikely, but our Medical Director is always available 24 hours a day, via phone or internet connection. If circumstances permit, we can have direct consultation or we can coordinate a Tele-Health appointment. Mobile IV is fully HIPPA compliant.

I'm Pregnant. Can I still receive an IV?

After a complete health assessment, Mobile IV professionals will consider treating pregnant women without complications with treatment including saline & electrolytes, up until their 3rd trimester. We recommend consulting your PCP or OBGYN.

What is in the IV?

Our most basic fluid treatment is a solution composed of balanced sodium & chloride designed to supplement human plasma. We also offer a pH balanced Plasma-Lyte solution that includes a variety of essential electrolytes. Our medical professionals will tailor recommendations based on your symptoms & conditions after a full health assessment, in order to provide you with the best solution, medications, and/or vitamin supplements. Just like a hospital, Mobile IV sources all medications, supplements, and supplies from only U.S. based, reputable, FDA approved medical suppliers. We pride ourselves on using only the best and safest medicines in the industry. We do not bargain for the quality.

Any IV side effects?

In extremely rare occasions there are complications, reactions, and contraindications, but generally, there are no major side effects.

Difficult to start an IV or "bad veins?"

We have you covered. Our board-certified medical providers have years of experience often in local emergency rooms, hospitals, and infusions clinics, working with extremely difficult veins under very stressful conditions. There has never been a patient we couldn’t help.

Do patients have to remain still during the process?

Generally, no. We do our best to accommodate all patients and their conditions as part of our mission to bring infusion service to all Tucson residents who need assistance.
